The SWFDA is the local district of the Florida Dietetic Association bringing together Registered Dietitians (RD) and Dietetic Technicians, Registered (DTR) from Charlotte, Collier, and Lee Counties. Our events are planned to fit the needs and desires of this local population of nutrition professionals. The SWFDA Board of Directors strives to inform members of career development programs, educational tracks, job openings, and FDA and ADA initiatives.

Licensure Information: If you are working in a facility that receives federal funds (Medicare/Medicaid), you are expected to be licensed in Florida or you may expose your facility to loss of funds. Please visit http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/howdoi.htm if you need information on your LD.

Be sure to visit www.eatright.org for information about RDs and DTRs.

Only graduates of CADE-accredited programs are eligible to take the exam to become a Registered Dietitian or Dietetic Technician, Registered. Individuals who only have degrees in nutrition, dietetics or other related areas from programs that are not CADE-accredited are NOT ELIGIBLE to take the exam to become a Registered Dietitian or Dietetic Technician, Registered.
